A generic and density-sensitive method for multi-scale pedestrian dynamics

Microscopic approaches to the simulation of pedestrian dynamics rely on modelling behaviour individual agents and their mutual interactions. Regarding spatial resolution, microscopic simulators are either based continuous (SpaceCont) or discrete (SpaceDisc) approaches. To combine advantages both approaches, we propose integrate SpaceCont SpaceDisc into a hybrid model. Such approach allows simulating critical regions with resolution uncritical ones while enabling consistent information exchange between two models. We introduce generic that provides solutions for challenges resulting from coupling diverging time steps resolutions. Furthermore, present dynamic density-sensitive detect dense areas during run.
